Timothy W. Schulz, an attorney with Timothy W., Schulz, P.A., is also Of Counsel to Jacobson Law P.A. Tim is a former police officer with the Atlantic City Police Department in Atlantic City, New Jersey. After suffering injuries in a serious on-duty automobile accident and, after ten years of service, he retired from law enforcement and attended law school at the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

During his law school years he worked in Miami, Florida as a summer law clerk for Roy Black, Esq., one of the country’s premier criminal defense trial attorneys; was a judicial intern for the Hon. William H. Hoeveler, United States District Court, Southern District of Florida; and spent a semester working full-time as a Certified Legal Intern with the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office, where he tried several felony jury cases to verdict under the direction and supervision of a senior Assistant State Attorney.

Upon graduation, Tim was hired as an associate attorney by Black, Srebnick & Kornspan, P.A., in Miami, Florida, where he continued to work with Roy Black, Esq., co-counseling and co-trying numerous state court criminal cases and trials, including a nationally televised murder trial covered live by Court TV. Tim also co-counseled a case in which Albertsons, a Fortune 500 Company, was charged with corporate criminal manslaughter in the death of shoplifter during a struggle with supermarket employees. A dismissal of that case was ultimately obtained. During his five years at Black, Srebnick & Kornspan, Tim developed a special niche in crime scene investigation, criminal forensics and the cross-examination of expert witnesses in areas such as forensic pathology, ballistics, trace evidence, and DNA comparisons.

In 2000, Tim decided to apply his trial experience gained in Miami in the area of commercial and business litigation, and joined the litigation department at Greenberg Traurig, P.A., one of the largest and most respected domestic and international law firms today. While at Greenberg Traurig, Tim represented a number of Fortune 500 and other publicly traded and private companies in a myriad of complex litigation matters, often dealing with multi-million dollar disputes.
Tim concentrates his practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and white collar criminal defense. In 2013, Tim obtained an order striking an opposing party’s pleadings and granting attorneys’ fees as a sanction after proving that the opposing party submitted a “doctored” email to the court in support of statutory claims which sought economic damages over $40,000,000.00. Following a four day trial, the court found, “by clear and convincing evidence, that either [the opposing party] or his attorney … fraudulently doctored the email.” See Palm Beach Fla. Hotel v. Nantucket Enters., Inc., 2013 WL 686433 (Fla. Cir. Ct. Feb. 25, 2013).

Tim is admitted to practice law in Florida; the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida;; and the Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.
